Robert Ernest Hill, 78, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. He was born July 31, 1944 in Gallipolis, son of the late Ernest and Hilda (Clark) Hill.

A United States Army Veteran, Captain Hill served throughout the Vietnam Conflict earning the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star Medal w/10LC, 4 Oversea Bars, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Silver Star and a Bronze Star Medal w/20LC.

He was also an avid and loyal Tennessee Volunteers Fan – “Go Vols”!

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children: Tracie (Billy) Ward, Gallipolis; Jamie (Nuchanat) Hill, Columbus, Ohio and Robert Hill, Gallipolis; grandchildren: Eric Hill, Hudson, New York; Codie (Rachel) Ward, Aubree (J-Jay) Johnson, Colin Hill and Katee (Andrew) Perko, all of Gallipolis; Dalton Hill, Hilliard, Ohio; Kaisee Hill, Columbus, Ohio and several great-grandchildren. Also missing Robert are brother, Larry (Minnie) Hill, Trinity, North Carolina; special friends, Cheryl and Keith Robie and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Hill and Chester Hill and sister, Judy Lear.

In accordance with his wishes, no services are to be held. Cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio, who is honored to serve the Hill Family.
