<text>Luella Johnson

December 20, 1930 - March 27, 2025

Luella Johnson, 94, of Gallipolis, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and close friends.

On December 20, 1930, Luella was born to the late Floyd Neal and Gracie Dulaney Neal. She was born in the Walnut Township of Gallia County, Ohio.

Luella was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Otis Johnson.

She is survived by her only child: daughter, Debra Toomey (Ray); two grandsons: John Toomey (Christine) and Neal Toomey; one great-granddaughter: Sutton Toomey; one great-grandson: Styles Toomey; and her sister: Edith Taylor.

Luella touched the lives of everyone she met and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and resilience. Her greatest love was for God, her family and her friends.

Luella was the valedictorian of her high school senior class. She worked initially at the Gallipolis Tribune and then at the local Gas Company. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and the original Fairview-Spring Valley Club.

Luella grew up on a farm and developed quite the knack for gardening. She enjoyed cooking and baking - excelling at both (her cherry pies were legendary). She also liked spending time with her family and friends playing cards and various board games, including Euchre, Scrabble and Spinners.

A Celebration of Life Service for Luella will be held at Willis Funeral Home in Gallipolis, Ohio on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Joe Kay officiating. Friends may call prior to the service Friday from noon-1:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Holzer Assisted Living Facility in Gallipolis, Ohio.</text>
