            <text>Walter Obley, Jr., 83, of Gallipolis, Ohio, formerly of Plainfield, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Holzer Medical Center.  Walter was born on March 27, 1941 in Plainfield, New Jersey, son of the late Walter Obley, Sr. and  Ann Cole Obley.&#13;
&#13;
Walter was a retired supervisor for National Starch and Chemical Company in Plainfield.  He enjoyed woodworking and fishing, and he had a love for playing baseball.  Walter is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joanne Kenny Obley of Gallipolis; one son, Donald (Helena) Obley of Phillipsburg, New Jersey; one daughter, Karen (Charlie) Wood of Mercerville, Ohio; stepson, James Barnes of Danielsville, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, Thomas, Emma, Anna, and Vincent Obley, Donald Obley, Jr., Brittany (Joe) Johnson, and Andrew (Abby) Wood; step granddaughter, Katrina Barnes; and two great granddaughters, Ellie and Sydna Johnson.&#13;
&#13;
In accordance with the family's wishes, there will not be a local funeral service.</text>
