He was discharged in 1957 as a Boiler Technician First Class (BT1) and moved to Pomeroy with his family.
During his life in Pomeroy, he worked at Kyger Creek power plant, Goeglein Coal and Gravel Co., Phillip Sporn plant, Pantasote Chemical Company and Foote Mineral until it closed. After he retired and moved back to Pomeroy, he was involved in a program at the Pomeroy Golf Course teaching young people how to golf.
