George Allen Glaze passed away on April 16, 2025, at his home in Pomeroy, Ohio. George was born on January 20, 1939, to Homer and Grace Glaze. He was the last survivor and youngest of twelve siblings, fondly dubbed by the family as “The Dirty Dozen.”

George dearly loved his family and was never happier than when surrounded by them. The annual Glaze Family Reunion was a highlight of his year when he was able to see his many nieces and nephews who no longer live in the area. Family came first, and George was always ready to help his family in any way he could. He loved sharing stories of growing up in his large family and was always ready with a joke or a wise crack – a trait he passed on to his fun-loving children.

A member of the Rocksprings United Methodist Church, George enjoyed working to support their biggest fundraisers: cutting, packaging, and selling fresh fruit at the Meigs County Fair, and the fall apple butter-making day at the Radford Farm.

George was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and a huge NASCAR fan. In 1980 he moved to Daytona Beach to escape the cold and be closer to the races he enjoyed so much.

George is survived by his wife of 66 years, Brenda Sivert Glaze, children Bret (Karen) Glaze of Norfolk, VA, Lori (Les) Neel of Daytona Beach, FL, Brian of Daytona Beach, FL; grandchildren Kelly Neel and Dustin Neel of Daytona Beach, FL; numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by many Glaze nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

George was predeceased by his parents, Homer and Grace Glaze, brothers Donald, Ray, Virgil, Homer, Herbert, Carl, Glen and Harry Glaze; sisters Anna Pullins, Louise Radford, and Bessie Byers Hill; granddaughter Brittany Glaze Grosch, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Monday, April 21 at the Anderson-McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Ohio, with Rick Ash officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Service will begin at 5:00 pm followed by a dinner at the Rocksprings United Methodist Church.
