Cheryl Ann Smith, 74, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center, Middleport, Ohio. Cheryl was born on March 3, 1950, in Pomeroy, Ohio. Cheryl was a long-time resident of Meigs County. She spent her teenage and early adulthood in Middletown, Ohio, where her beloved sons were born. Cheryl returned to Meigs County, where she dedicated her time to her family and her career as a nurse. She worked as a nurse at Pleasant Valley Hospital, Overbrook Nursing Home Lakin Nursing Home and finally with Dr. Westmoreland before retiring.
Cheryl is proceeded in death by her parents, Luther and Mary Smith. Cheryl is survived by her sons and daughter in law, Randall and Angee Arnold and Brian Smith, brother and sister-in-law Everett and Sherry Smith, grandchildren Corey (Amanda), Chelsey, Hannah (Nate), Jordyn and Bralynn, great-grandchildren Gavin, Elliott, Jenson and Hudson, special cousin and best friend, Lisa (Jerry) Cleland and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Grave side services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Miles Cemetery, Rutland, Ohio, officiated by Cheryl’s nephew, Phillip Smith. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Overbrook Nursing Home 300 Hall and Buckeye Hospice. Memorial donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Buckeye Hospice and Palliative Care, 810 Boardman-Canfield Rd Ste 1, Boardman, Oh 44512 (330) 531-7543.
