            <text>Michael D. Massey, age 70, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 14, 2023. He passed at home surrounded by his family. Born at home in Rodney on June 13, 1953, to the late Bradford Boyd and Kathryn M. (Beck) Massey. He was the only son of six children.&#13;
&#13;
He grew up working on the family farm-milking cows, working in hay and in the garden. He also helped his dad work in their shop. He enjoyed riding horses with his sister and spending time with family. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and camping with his wife and grandson.&#13;
&#13;
Mike graduated from Alexander High School. He was a man who had many talents. He worked as a coal miner and diesel mechanic at Meigs Mines. He lived and worked in Hawaii as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a bus driver for the Gallia County Local Schools and was a traveling mechanic for Elliott Contractors. His last occupation was transporting Amish workers.&#13;
&#13;
He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and previously was a Greenfield Township Volunteer Fireman.&#13;

Mike married Regina G. Massey on February 19, 2005, who survives him. Also surviving, a precious grandson Bentley Massey; children Shaya Massey, Patriot, Jeremy Fulk, Columbus, Misty (Tom) Fulk, Columbus, and Kelly Ireland, Indiana; sisters, Mary Massey, Clayton, CA, Janet Burnett, Patriot, Brenda Dellarco, New Philadelphia, OH, Kathy (Thomas) Oxyer, Leesburg, FL, and Robin Butler, Frankfort, OH.; brother-in-law, Phillip (Karen) Exline, Jackson, sisters-in-law, Paul Sims, Jackson, and Sharon (Mike) Shoemaker, Thurman, OH; close friends and family Murrell Bailey, Allen Rutherford, and Tom Beck, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.&#13;
&#13;
A private Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at the Salem Baptist Church with Pastor David Collins officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis is entrusted with the arrangements.</text>
