            <text>Rev. Emory Lamar O'Bryant, Sr.86, of Pomeroy, OH went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center.&#13;
&#13;
Lamar was born June 22, 1936 in Forsyth County Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Ethel O'Bryant, sister, Benny Lou Tackett, and brother, Reginald O'Bryant&#13;
&#13;
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce O'Bryant, whom he married February 10, 1957. Lamar is survived by a brother, Jerry (Laura) O'Bryant of Charlotte, NC, three sons, Marty (Patsy) O'Bryant of Pomeroy, OH, Mike (Kathy) O'Bryant of Canal Winchester, OH, and Matt (Leigh Ann) O'Bryant of Ironton, OH. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Brooke (Ben) See of Pomeroy, OH, Mary Beth (Bobby) Drodofsky of Canal Winchester, OH, Andrew (Cheryl) O'Bryant of Pomeroy, OH, Ben (Brooklin) O'Bryant of Lancaster, OH and Haley and Zach O'Bryant of Ironton, OH. Lamar is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, Trinity Drodofsky, Paxton, Lennox, and Maddox O'Bryant, Emery, Ellie, and Elana O'Bryant.&#13;
&#13;
Lamar was a carpenter by trade. In 1969, the Lord called him into the ministry and he moved his family from Georgia to Ironton, OH to help start Sharon Baptist Church. He pastored there for 16 ½ years before the Lord called him to Pomeroy, OH, to pastor First Southern Baptist Church, where he pastored for 22 years. Lamar retired in 2007 and served as interim pastor at The Plains Baptist Church in The Plains, OH and mission pastor at Lakeview Baptist Church in Hamden, OH.&#13;
&#13;
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 1, 2023 at First Southern Baptist Church 41872 Pomeroy Pike Pomeroy, OH. Visitation from 10-1 at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy.&#13;
