Leroy Burchwell, age 79, of Coolville, Ohio, passed away at his home on Feb. 20, 2023. He was born Oct. 24, 1943. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin E. and Zelda (Ferguson) Burchwell; sister, Jeannie Harrison, nephew, Martin E. Harrison, mother-in-law, Susie Meredith, brother-in-law, Paul Bolin and sister-in-law, Linda DeGregory.
He was a Construction Superintendent building McDonalds and various other commercial buildings. He was an Army Veteran; a huge Ohio State Football fan, loved to play golf and had a collection of roosters.
Leroy is survived by his loving wife Anna Christine (Meredith) Burchwell of 54 years; daughter, Denise (Ethan) Poole of St. Albans, WV; son, Shane Burchwell of Coolville, OH; grandson, Trace Poole and granddaughter, Allie Poole of St. Albans, WV; nephew, Mark (Patty) Harrison of North Carolina; 2 nieces, Jennifer (Shawn) Golden of North Carolina; Laura Tesi of Columbus, Ohio; 7 great-nieces; 2 great-nephews; father-in-law, Gene “Pops” Meredith of Coolville, Ohio; aunt, Sharon Wright, Hockingport, Ohio; sister-in-law, Marlene Bolin of Columbus, Ohio; niece, Diana Bolin of Columbus, Ohio; 2 nephews, James (Jodie) Bolin of Kileen, Texas and Todd (Anoy) DeGregory of Groveport, Ohio and brother-in-law, Joe DeGregory of Florida.
The family wishes to say a special thank you to the staff of Amedysis Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Pastor Craig Holler officiating.
The family will be accepting family and friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday,
