On Saturday, December 28, 2019, Frances Nash, loving wife and mother of three passed away at age 90. Frances was born on December 13, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of the late Walter and Marion Smith. She received a B.A. degree in history from the Ohio Sate University and working with children became her passion. She spent many years teaching pre-school as well as working for a law firm. On March 19, 1960 she married Robert Thornton Nash. The moved from Columbus, Ohio to Nashville, Tennessee in 1967 where they raised their son, Whitney, and two daughters, Suzanne and Adrienne. Frances had many interests, especially her beloved gardening and bird watching. Much of the last 40 years she spent enjoying her country cabin in Hohenwald, Tennessee. She was also an active volunteer, giving many hours to Meals on Wheels, The Shopping Bag and St. Thomas Hospital. The family would like to thank all of the close friends that lent a helping hand and went above and beyond for this difficult journey for Frances. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her mother, Marion, her father, Walter, and her brother, Donald. Visitation is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the Edgehill United Methodist Church. Frances will be interred next to her husband, Bob, in the Pine Street Cemetery, Gallipolis. Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis, is serving the Nash family.
