Freddie V. Phillips, 85, of Crown City, passed away, at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021, in the Holzer Medical Center. Born December 3, 1935 in Crown City, he was the son of the late Fred and Hattie Huff Phillips. He was the owner operator of Freddie Phillips and Son Construction Company.

He is survived by his wife Patricia A. Hively Call Phillips whom he married on December 30, 2007 in Crown City, a son, Larry Wayne (Marie) Phillips, of Crown City, three step-children, Thomas Call, of Crown City, Tammy Gray, of Gallipolis, and John Call, of Crown City. Three granddaughters, Tonya Watson, Rebekah (Tony) McGuire, and Sierra Phillips, four great-grandsons, Virgil “Trey” Watson, Troy Watson, Issac Luther, and Wade Luther. Seven Step-grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren, brothers, Bob Phillips, of Defiance, Oh., Roy (Margarete) Phillips, of Crown City, sisters, Sally Sibley, of Florence, Ky., Dorothy (Thomas) Lewis, of Crown City, Mary McDonald, of Ohio, and Freda Hanna, of Crown City, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Warren Phillips, who preceded him on October 15, 2006.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in the Crown City Cemetery, with Rev. Garland Montgomery officiating and interment will follow. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
